Hi, I’m Bailey.
I believe strongly that it takes a great deal of courage to ask for help. Too often people identify asking for aid in managing issues related to mental health as a sign of weakness. It is not. In fact, it is the first stage in recognizing that you have a right to live your life beyond mere survival. That you have a right to feel what you feel without fear of retribution or judgment. By the end of treatment, it is my hope that each and every one of my clients walks away knowing (ultimately) that no one needs their acceptance more than they do. To establish healthy boundaries, take a stand on matters for which they have true passion and to love stronger and better than they could have ever imagined is real healing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker operating a private practice out of Boulder, Colorado. I graduated from Syracuse University in 1991 with a MSW (Masters in Social Work) and have been licensed in the state of Colorado since 1994. My practice is devoted to the treatment of individuals (adolescents/adults), couples, and families attempting to navigate through a variety of issues.
Prior to opening up a full-time private practice in 1999, I had worked in a variety of settings both nonprofit (and corporate) providing child and family therapy throughout the Denver Metro area.
My interests include comedy, cycling, fitness/nutrition, philosophy, writing, oil pastels, photography, dogs (love them, especially Golden Retrievers), lucid dreaming, and just about all things science and science fiction.
Welcome.
So you, and possibly your family, have decided its time to talk to someone and have scheduled a first session. This is known as an “intake meeting” and occurs 1-3 weeks after our initial phone consultation. Assuming I haven’t mailed the required paperwork to you (upon your request), I ask that people show up for this first appointment about 20-30 minutes before hand to complete this small amount of material.
